Updated on May 20. 2004

Objective: Inaddition to the vertical wind profiles from the EAR, the information of 3D convective structure of rain field and wind field are essential to well understand the details of storm characteristics. For this purpose, an X-band Doppler Radar (XDR; belong to ILTS, Hokkaido Univ.) will be employed for the special campaign scheduled in March-April, 2004, and in November 2005. Moreover, feasibility studies to add bistatic receivers to the XDR to obtain the information of 2D wind field more accurately is underway.
